Please follow the following guidelines when using lithium batteries.
I. Environmental conditions for use
Charging temperature: 0~45℃
Discharging temperature: -20~50℃
Storage temperature: -10~30℃
Relative humidity: 5%~80% (25℃)
II. Safety precautions
1. It is strictly forbidden to put the battery into fire, heat, disassemble or short-circuit. When the battery is exposed to high temperature, fire or strong physical damage, the internal chemicals may react rapidly, causing extremely dangerous situations such as explosion and combustion. For example, grilling the battery close to an open flame or piercing the battery shell with sharp objects may lead to catastrophic consequences.
2. Be sure to avoid severe impact or squeezing of the battery. Strong external forces may damage the internal structure of the battery, causing problems such as electrode short circuit and electrolyte leakage, which in turn may cause safety hazards. For example, during transportation or use, the battery is severely collided or squeezed by heavy objects for a long time.
3. During charging and use, it is strictly forbidden for the battery to come into contact with water or be in a humid environment. The intrusion of moisture may cause the positive and negative poles of the battery to short-circuit, causing leakage, overheating or even fire. Especially when using or storing batteries in a damp basement, in the rain, or in an environment with extremely high humidity, you need to be extra careful.
4. If you find that the battery is bulging, leaking, abnormally hot or smelly, you should stop using it immediately and contact a professional for treatment. These phenomena are usually a sign of internal battery failure, and continued use may bring serious safety risks. For example, the internal pressure of a bulging battery increases and it is easy to rupture; the electrolyte of a leaking battery is corrosive and may cause damage to the human body and equipment.
III. Charging status
1. Always use a charger that fully matches the battery specifications for charging. The output voltage, current, and charging mode of the charger must meet the requirements of the battery, otherwise it may cause low charging efficiency, battery damage, or even safety accidents. For example, using a charger with too high a voltage will cause overcharging, while a charger with too low a voltage will not fully charge the battery.
2. Choose a well-ventilated, dry, and normal temperature (about 20-25°C) environment for charging. A high temperature environment will accelerate the chemical reaction inside the battery, affecting the charging effect and battery life; a low temperature environment may cause the charging speed to slow down or even fail to charge normally. For example, in hot summer, avoid charging in direct sunlight; in cold winter, try to move the battery to a warm room for charging.
3. During the charging process, ensure that the connection between the charger and the battery is firm and reliable to avoid poor contact. Poor contact will increase resistance and cause local overheating, which will not only affect charging efficiency, but also may damage the charger and battery. For example, regularly check whether the charging plug and socket are loose or oxidized.
4. Strictly abide by the charging time. The maximum charging time should not be more than 10 hours. When the indicator light of the charger shows that the charging is completed, the charger should be unplugged in time to prevent overcharging. Overcharging will cause the lithium ions inside the battery to be excessively embedded in the electrode material, causing structural damage and reducing battery performance and life.
IV. Discharge status
1. Always use within the discharge current and voltage range specified by the battery, and resolutely avoid overload discharge. Overload discharge will generate a lot of heat inside the battery, which may cause the battery to overheat, damage or even fail. For example, when an electric car accelerates sharply or a power tool is running at high load, pay attention to the change in current to avoid exceeding the battery's tolerance.
2. If the device is not used for a long time, the battery should be charged to about 50% and recharged every once in a while (recommended 2-3 months). Long-term storage at low power will increase the self-discharge of the battery, causing the battery to enter a deep discharge state and affect the battery performance; while storage at full power may increase the aging rate of the battery.
V. Storage conditions
1. Store the battery in a dry, well-ventilated environment without corrosive gases (optimal temperature is 5℃~25℃), and charge it for one hour every three months; a humid environment will cause the battery to get damp and corrode the battery shell and internal structure; corrosive gases may react with the battery material and affect battery performance. For example, avoid storing the battery in chemical warehouses, bathrooms and other places.
2. The battery should be kept in a half-charged state (about 50% power) during storage, and avoid storage with full power or no power. Storage with full power will increase the self-discharge of the battery and cause capacity loss; storage with no power may cause the battery to enter a dormant state and it will be difficult to restore normal performance.
VI. Maintenance and Care
1. Check the appearance of the battery regularly (recommended once a month), including whether the shell is damaged, deformed, corroded, etc., and whether the electrode is oxidized, loose, etc. If any damage is found, take timely measures to repair or replace it. For example, a damaged shell may cause electrolyte leakage, and loose electrodes may affect current transmission.
2. When cleaning the battery, wipe it gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not use a wet cloth or a detergent containing chemical solvents to avoid short circuiting or corrosion of the battery.
